Iladence

The city of war and of theatre. Home to the South Bishop Oharad, the Church of Pandemona, and the Army of Iladence. It is divided into four districts.

1. Market District

A major hub of economic activity, and home to lower and middle class citizens.

Slums

A collection of tents and ramshackle homes which have collected around the south and north gates. Peasants here beg for money from those who pass by. Crime is rampant here, so guards patrol frequently.

Markets

Most streets in the Market District are lined with stalls. Most merchandise is pricey and low quality in recent times. Can find a stall for most things.

Blacksmiths

The prized blacksmiths of Iladence operate out of the Market District. High quality armour and weapons can be found here.

Hulrik’s Hearth

An inn, run by Hulrik. Warm and welcoming, although pricier than its nearby competition.

The Fifth Ace

A seedy inn, run by Yeros. Peeling paint inside and out, and the patrons don’t seem friendly.

The Brief Respite

A short stay inn, run by Eillee. Most patrons come and go quickly, and there is little activity in the common room.

No Mercy

A rowdy and seedy bar, run by Torron. John was met here.

Church of Monotheism

Headquarters of the Fanatics and Zafir. A slum has formed around this building, as more and more impoverished people are attracted to the Fanatic movement.

2. Theatre District

A semi-red-light district. Lots of bars, theatres, and brothels. A prime attraction for tourists.

The War Alter

An old religious temple converted into a theatre. Stone depictions of Pandemona flank the entrance.

Offers war re-enactments, fictional war stories, and tragedies. Also features performances written to glorify and impress Pandemona.

The South Theatre

A magnificent and expensive theatre. White building with gilded handles and ornamentation. Guards stand at the entrance in armour more polished than standard Iladener guards. Run by the wealthy Arafin.

Offers high-art, classics, and the latest plays from the most famous living writers.

Pandemonium

An open air theatre (with retractable roof). Connected to Frisk, a bar. A favourite low-brow attraction.

Offers comedies, ridiculous plays, and other comedic performances.

Frisk

A rowdy bar, connected to Pandemonium, a theatre. Run by Krag. Neil was met here.

Temple of Trickery

Headquarters of the Trickery Church and the High Priestess Adinora.

A nondescript building in a quiet area of the Theatre District, bordering the Noble Distrct. Very dark inside, with lots of smoke and incense. Golden depictions of Pandemona fill the interior, and they shine in the candlelight.

3. Noble District

Home to the middle and upper class. Offers higher quality stores, bars, and inns.

Apothecary

Offers health potions and cures for poison. Standard wares:

  • Restorative ointment. 700gp. Heals 2d8+2 (11). Cures poison and disease, 4 doses.
  • Standard potion. 50gp. Heals 2d4+2 (7).
  • Greater healing potion. 250gp. Heals 4d4+4 (14).
  • Superior healing potion. 1500gp. Heals 8d4+8 (28). May take a couple of days to organise.

Boiling Point

A chemist, run by Elini. Standard wares:

Calligraphy Supplies

Offers Calligrapher’s Supplies (10gp) and goods equivalent to a Forgery Kit (15gp).

Oharad’s Blessing

An expensive inn, run by Rolen. Neil stays here when he goes to Iladence.

Greater Temple of Pandemona

The most magnificent and impressive temple of Pandemona in Iparra. Celebrates both war and trickery, and a neutral ground in the dispute between these two domains. Home to the High Priest Khalil.

A large set of stone steps lead up to the main building, which has a large domed roof. On top of the roof is a bronze statue of Pandemona. She rides a rearing horse. One hand holds a sword pointed to the centre of Iparra, and the other holds a dagger behind her back.

Features a main hall used for major ceremonies, and smaller private chambers for members of the Church of Pandemona to pray.

Temple of War

Headquarters of the War Church and the High Priestess Faleth.

A beautiful temple, surrounded by several statues dedicated to Iladence’s past heroes, with depictions of Pandemona’s angels of war in between.

4. The South Bishop’s Castle

Home of Oharad, his guests, and other high-ranking nobles. Serves as the fourth district in Iladence.

Visitor’s Hall

A place for people to petition Oharad, although they’ll usually end up dealing with an appointee. Connected to the Keep, but the doors are well guarded.

The Keep

Where Oharad resides. Heavily guarded and highly restricted.

Library

Where Oharad keeps his private collection of books. He also stores his collection of magical items and artefacts below the library.

The library itself is divided into a public and private section.

Barracks

Home to the Army of Iladence.

South Bishop’s Temple

A private temple dedicated to Pandemona. Used by Oharard for ceremonies with more restricted guest lists.
