Oath binders - Part 1

This section of the book details several paladin orders who chose to magically bind themselves to their oaths, so that they would be unable to become oath breakers. What united oathbinders was not their particular paladin oath, but their method of adhering to it.

In most cases, oathbinders used magical totems, tablets, rods, or orbs to bind themselves. In some cases, a powerful magic user did the binding for the paladins.
