Unfinished business
S6E2 | Sessions 5–6

  • PCsReginald & Sir Ares speak with Kromnir about the Drow and their experiments.
  • PCs and Kromnir fail to convince Brulma, the reeve of Din Doral, to take action.
  • PCs buy supplies in Din Doral, and hear some rumours about the monks of Shadow Hill being mysteriously absent.
  • PCs visit Shadow Hill, and approach the boarded up monastery openly.

Kromnir

The PCsReginald & Sir Ares learn the following from Kromnir:

  • His father, a dwarven noble in Ebaris named Gremnir, likely posted the missing notice.
  • Kromnir was spying on the drow for several weeks. He found them after killing a wolf horror.
  • The drow were creating such monsters using a blue, binding ooze which they controlled via magic.
  • This process seemed difficult for the drow, and Kromnir witnessed 6 creatures being made.
  • Canisters containing the blue ooze were periodically brought up from the cave ladder - presumably an entrance to the Underdark.

Kromnir also pays the PCs 200gp for “finding” him.

Din Doral

The PCs and Kromnir travel east to Din Doral. They fail to convince the reeve, Brulma, to do much about the drow threat.

Kromnir departs Din Doral angrily, intent on seeking the help of his father, and the rest of the Giantbreakers faction.

Supplies

The PCs buy horses and many other supplies. Sir Ares convinces the local apothecary to sell him some crippling poison.

The PCs put down a 300gp deposit to borrow some translation books, Why You Should Hate the Drow, and some leisure reading material from Calora at the library.

Shadow Hill

The PCs visit the Silver Unicorn. In the common room, they hear talk about the monks of Shadow Hill being mysteriously absent from Din Doral.

The next day, the PCs set out west for Shadow Hill. They arrive after 3 days of travel, and find the monastery to be boarded up. Sir Ares gets closer and sees there are still monks inside.

The PCs Approach the monastery openly, and a voice from inside yells at them to begone. The PCs explain they are friends, and have killed the “devil” causing the monastery trouble. But the voice inside remains unconvinced.
