  • Ben convinces 18 people to become patrons of Dusk.
  • Randall commissions the ultimate wizarding robes and a unique amulet.
  • PCsRandall & Ben propose an affiliation between Randall’s B.U.T. and Dhurim’s A.S.S.
  • PCs meet with a distracted Elwin Oldgreave.
  • Gerwin Maxwell provides an update on the A.B.S. Kenley situation. PCs confess to murdering Dirk.

Dusk

The PCsRandall & Ben collect 5,000gp from the Mad Dragon. Ben then convinces 18 people to spend money at Dusk. He pays each 25gp and promises more later.

PCs return to Dusk, and Aswen puts them to bed again. Before they sleep, Balerion appears and says she was impressed by Ben’s successful duel.

In the morning, the PCs find 6 of Ben’s deal-takers having breakfast in the common room. Randall entertains them with stories from Tarr.

Orb Weaver Robes

The PCs visit Dhurim at Orb-Weaver Robes in Frieda’s Run. Randall commissions robes with the following qualities:

  • Jet black colour.
  • Has a coat of arms modelled closely after Randall & Ben. Additionally, the depiction of Ben has armour which changes to match Ben’s actual Glamoured Studded Leather.
  • A subtle depiction of Hal across the robes which Randall can make visible at will.
  • Hidden and bottomless pockets.
  • Defensive reinforcement.

The PCs agree to pay 10,000gp, and to give Dhurim Ben’s armour for a week. Randall also makes a down payment of 20%.

Dhurim then says Randall would be a good fit for the ASS. Randall says he has his own society, which Ben identifies as the Breakers Under the Tome. Dhurim says he’ll talk with the Society’s members about potential cooperation with the Breakers.

Finally, Dhurim gives directions to some magical tattoo artists, and says he’ll see if a wizard named Pogorin can help Randall grow some facial hair.

Equipment

The PCs hang out in Frieda’s Run, and discuss Ben’s Rapier of Vengeance. Hal says the blade’s angry spirit is messing with Ben, but Ben says it’s all okay. Ben also takes out the Ashbane Rapier, which several passers-by recognise.

The PCs then visit a jeweller, and Randall commissions a rework of his Pandemona medallion and Alaxar’s amulet: they are to be combined, and adorned with a (loosely described) depiction of the Swarm. Randall says cost is no issue, and agrees to pick it up after a week.

Before leaving Frieda’s Run, Ben buys some black leather armour and sends it to Dusk via a herald.

Elwin

The PCs visit Elwin Oldgreave’s residence north of the Spire. They find Elwin searching through his vast library of work for vaguely described “errors” he must fix.

After ignoring Randall (AKA Ben’s “Squire”) for a while, Elwin eventually examines him closely, and notes that he has “the song in him.” Elwin advises Ben to keep Randall around.

Elwin also mentions Odran Newgreave visiting him and asking what Ben’s “plans” were. Elwin says he could offer Odran no details, because Ben is a doer, not a planner.

Gerwin

The PCs find Gerwin Maxwell setting up his office down the hall. He offers the following updates on the Nathan Goldman situation:

  • The Troublemaker’s Crew can all confirm A.B.S. Kenley’s derangement.
  • The sailor guarding Nathan and Kenley - a man named Mezhure - saw Nathan flee and attack Ben.
  • Many witnesses saw Nathan incinerated by a “flame spirit”.

Gerwin suggests blaming Nathan’s murder on this flame spirit, and the PCs agree. Hal says to Randall that they must be careful not to tarnish the name of the Lesser Pantheon in general, but it’d be very good to tarnish the name of specific members, like the Dragon.

Gerwin says Vivienne Ashbane’s lawyer, Luvon Tenmeadow, is demanding the return of the Ashbane rapier. He advises Ben to hand it over.

The PCs then tell Gerwin about Dirk’s murder. Gerwin says he’ll try to arrange the removal of the body before it causes problem.
