Watkins & Hallie
Watkins the immortal asks Randall about the potion promised to him on Tarr. Randall improvises, and gives Watkins a vial of bilge water - but he promises that if Watkins rubs himself with the “special” substance it will help him succeed with women.
Hallie asks about the PCsRandall & Ben plans. Ben says they’re starting their own sailing crew, and he invites Hallie to join. She seems impressed, but says she’ll think on it, as she’s loyal to the Troublemaker’s Crew.
Nathan & Kenley
The PCs go below deck, and see Nathan Goldman talking with A.B.S. Kenley. Ben confronts Nathan, who complains about Lavias the bard’s death, as well as the division of treasure. Ben then grabs Nathan and drags him to Kenley’s cell.
Ben demands to know what Nathan and Kenley were talking about. Kenley says Nathan asked about his plans after being kicked out of the Troublemaker’s crew - something no one else on the ship has cared to ask about.
Randall then picks the cell door lock, and Ben throws Nathan in. As the PCs walk away, Nathan orders them to release him, and yells that he plans to investigate their suspicious activities on Tarr, and their apparent meddling with gods.
Leta & Shepard
The PCs run into Leta the assistant, and tell her everything is in order. They ask her to let them know if Nathan does anything suspicious.
The PCs then check in with Captain Shepard. Shepard suggests they release Nathan, but the PCs convince him to keep Nathan imprisoned until they reach Soleme.
Randall & Ben
Dissatisfied with Nathan as a mere prisoner, the PCs devise a way to be rid of him entirely. They go back below deck, and tell Mezhure - the sailor posted to Kenley’s cell - that Nathan took a knife from Ben. Randall then picks the lock again, and the PCs re-enter the cell.
Randall casts Gaseous Form on himself and corners Kenley, blocking his view. Ben then pretends to dodge an attack from Nathan, while striking at the explorer with his rapier. Nathan survives Ben’s initial flurry, escapes from the cell, and runs towards the ladder leading above deck. Thinking quickly, Ben stabs himself with a dagger, to make it seem as if he was attacked by Nathan.
Balerion
As Nathan nears the ladder, Balerion appears in a fiery rage. Without consulting Ben, she draws a significant amount of his energy to summon an intense flame around Nathan, reducing him to ashes. She then regards Ben in disappointment.
Shepard appears below deck with Hallie and Watkins. He questions the PCs angrily about what happened with Nathan, and at first seems dissatisfied with their story. But then Balerion confronts Shepard, and says Nathan was meddling with the Dragon’s affairs, so she judged that he should be eliminated. Balerion announces to the surrounding sailors that anyone who interferes with the Dragon will be destroyed by hellfire. She then disappears in a cloud of smoke.
Taken aback, Shepard recommends the PCs avoid causing any further trouble before reaching Soleme. The PCs retreat to their quarters, and Ben drinks a health potion in celebration of Nathan’s untimely demise.
