- PCsRandall & Ben and Jago escape to the sewers of Soleme via the canals. Along the way, they kill two guards, and at least 25 civilians.
- PCs and Jago encounter a Froghemoth in the sewers of Soleme.
The streets
Ben convinces Balerion to obstruct 3 guards with a wall of flame. The PCsRandall & Ben and Jago then run south. Randall takes a crossbow bolt as he runs, and orders Hal to search for a canal.
The PCs and Jago run into a lone guard, and Randall is almost killed by another crossbow bolt. Hal then successfully leads the group to a canal, where they see a boat with three people in it.
Together, the PCs and Jago jump onto the boat, and they exchange some gold for some beers. Ben also uses some Healing Herbs on Randall.
The canals
Guards appear at the edge of the canal and fire a volley of crossbow bolts, damaging Randall and Jago. Balerion again walls off the guards with flame, and the boat then passes under a small bridge.
The PCs try to convince the other people on the boat to swap clothes with them. But the three terrified people instead jump ship and swim to safety.
The boat passes into another open canal, and two more guards appear. They both damage Ben with crossbow fire, which activates the blind vengeance of his rapier.
Rapier and horn
Seeing Ben preparing to leap from the boat, Randall moves to attack Ben himself, but Hal convinces him not to do this.
Instead, Randall blows the Horn of Blasting towards the two guards, deafening and severely damaging both. The horn also wreaks havoc through a residential area behind the guards (killing 25 civilians).
Ben leaps from the boat and unsuccessfully attacks the first guard to damage him. Jago leaps after Ben and kills both guards. They then return to the boat, which floats into a tunnel.
The sewers
The PCs and Jago exit the boat and swim behind it. The tunnel branches twice, and both times Randall guides them left.
They float past a strange platform with a ladder leading down. They decide to climb onto the platform, and allow Balerion to sink the boat by burning a hole into it.
They descend the ladder, and find themselves in an ancient sewerage tunnel beneath the canals. They follow the tunnel, walking against the flow of waste water.
Along the way, they find tiling reminiscent of Tarr’s underground tunnels, but with depictions of large sea creatures.
It can always get worse
Eventually, the PCs and Jago reach a large chamber. They see several open pipes with sewerage running into the center of the chamber, and a ladder towards the back.
Ben then sees a small stalk sticking out of the central pool, with three eyes watching him intently. He reminds Randall again of his battle with the Froghemoth, just as a giant creature bursts from the water behind him.
