The return

Randall casts Gaseous Form on the PCs, and they exit the underground temple via the third dig site. The PCs then race back to the dwarven dig site, surprising the sailors just as they’ve started panicking over the lack of rope signals.

The sailors celebrate the PC’s return. Ben gives each sailor an obsidian, and A.B.S. Hallie the golden cup. The PCs then explain what happened in the caves, and how to get underground via the third dig site.

Everyone then realises A.B.S. Kenley is missing. The PCs and First mate Rick confirm Kenley didn’t take a rowboat out to the dwarven ship. The PCs then visit the eastern shore with Captain Shepard, where they find evidence of Kenley returning to the Troublemaker.

Kenley’s disobedience

The PCs and Shepard row out to the Troublemaker. Kenley appears on deck, and says he plans to sail home. He tells Shepard to gather the crew so they can join, but refuses to let the PCs aboard, blaming them for keeping him on the island.

Ben starts climbing the Troublemaker with a hammer and pitons, but Kenley wards him off with a cutlass. Randall persuades Shepard to appoint him as acting captain, and then uses Fly to board the ship.

Kenley quickly gives up the fight, and begs the PCs to let him go home. As acting captain, Randall orders the skeleton crew to apprehend Kenley, and ignore his suggestion of leaving Tarr.

Aftermath

Shepard boards the ship. With some regret, he fires Kenley from the Troublemaker’s Crew, and sends him to the brig. Shepard then offers the positions of second and third mate to Randall and Ben respectively, and they happily accept.

The PCs and Shepard return to the third dig site. The crew are sad to hear about Kenley, but happy about the PC’s addition to their ranks. By request of the PCs, Shepard tells Rick to remain stationed on the Troublemaker to prevent any further problems.

The dragon

During the next two weeks, the PCs help Nathan Goldman explore underground via a few dig sites. At first, all they find is 6 ancient coins. But eventually they find an underground staircase leading up into the island’s volcano.

The PCs ascend the stairs with Nathan Goldman, Leta the assistant, Lavias the bard, A.B.S. Hallie, and Watkins the immortal. At the top are a pair of doors covered in intricate carvings of dragons, which Nathan leads them through.

The PCs find themselves at the top of the volcano. They see loads of treasure scattered about, a strange wall which Hal suspects is the portal they’ve been looking for, and a dragon statue thing which Hal senses is alive.
