- PCs arrive at the Chambers of Ashar.
- West and the Inspector enter first, and are quickly killed by a pair of Ironhearts.
Arrival
Dranik leads the PCs to a large statue of a woman in the Deserts of Nesai – the entrance to the Chambers of Ashar.
He allows two to enter at a time, and promises freedom to whoever survives the trials.

West and the Inspector (W&I) step forward. Dranik allows each to choose a weapon and 3 items:

Descent
W&I enter the Chambers of Ashar. First they find a circular room with 4 scenes carved into the walls. Each scene depicts two fighters facing oncoming hoards of different enemies:
- Armoured knights
- Skeletons
- Unknown (insufficient illumination)
- Lizardmen
First chamber
In the first of Ashar’s chambers, a giant shield and spear breaks from the wall and advances towards W&I. West slides around behind it, slashes open the heart-like organism driving it forward, and dodges the resulting blood acid spray.
Two more Ironhearts emerge from the walls. West prepares to engage one, and the Inspector slides clumsily across the room towards the other. Both Ironhearts advance and attack, killing each PC in a single blow.
