  • PCs, Zane, Baro, and Eed battle some acolytes.
  • PCs remain at the Monotheist camp to search for Sigmond, Gregan, and Gregan’s wagon.

Monotheists

The PCs enter Sigmond’s Monotheist camp. They attempt to socialise with the Monotheists while Gregan finishes his delivery.

Sigmond brings the PCs, Zane, Baro, and Eed into the camp’s main tent. He asks whether they’d like to join the Monotheists, and says Gregan tries to employ guards who might be suitable candidates. The PCs politely decline, and Zane rudely declines.

Payment

Gregan appears, and says a couple more goblins have been slain at the camp’s entrance. He then pays each of his crew 200gp. Zane assumes Gregan and Sigmond want the camp kept a secret, and he demands an extra 50gp for discretion. The PCs don’t protest, and Gregan begrudgingly pays out.

Randall then excuses himself for a toilet break. While alone, he asks Hal to look for Gregan’s wagon. Hal returns without news of the wagon, but with a warning of something big approaching.

The Chimera

An acolyte bursts into the tent and says the goblins have led a Chimera to the camp. Sigmond tells a couple of acolyte guards to watch Gregan’s crew, then he and Gregan rush outside.

Ben bashes the heads of the two guards together, and the PCs exit the tent. They see the camp in turmoil, and a battle raging between dozens of acolytes and a Chimera near the camp’s entrance.

Ben moves towards the battle, and is engaged by two acolytes. Randall tries to follow, but is grabbed from behind by the two tent guards. The PCs are then rescued by Zane, Baro, and Eed, and together they kill a couple of the acolytes. Zane says he and his friends are fleeing, and he urges the PCs to do the same.

Backtracking

The PCs start to follow Zane, but suddenly turn back to search for Sigmond, Gregan, and Gregan’s wagon. Randall bashes the ground behind the main tent with Gregan’s magical rod, which causes a pillar of earth to rise into the air (he also senses a total of 8 charges).

The PCs then cut their way back into the main tent, where they find an acolyte hiding. Randall instructs Hal to reveal himself to Ben, and after brief introductions, Hal is sent to find Gregan’s wagon.

The tent

Randall asks the acolyte if he overheard anything important, then attacks the acolyte after receiving an unsatisfactory answer. The acolyte runs from the tent while yelling for help. Hal reports back that Gregan’s wagon is near the stables, close to the Chimera battle.

The PCs exit the tent, and Randall activates the Rod of Rising at the entrance, intending to create a barricade. The rising pillar of earth instead catches part of the tent, and rips the whole structure up from the ground.
